Here is your arsenic, dear.
And your weedkiller biscuit.

ABOUT THE POISON EARL

History: The Aburame family had their roots in Konoha, and they would not be torn out from the hardened soil anytime soon. Both of Shino's parents were gumshoes (detectives, if you will) in Konoha, one of the few private eyes in the area. Upon opening “The Aburame Agency” three years prior to Shino's birth, the family has been known to be a bit on the odd side, his father holding a degree in Criminal Psychology and Investigation. His mother, on the other hand, was into Forensics and other scientific studies. The two met in college and it was love at first crime site.

After the Aburame's tied the knot and the leasing contract for their detective agency, after working together for a decent amount of time, they bore Shino. Although a child was a blessing, they weren't too sure how well it would mesh with their detective work and life of solving crimes.

So like good parents, they took their child with them instead of him being watched by a nanny.

Shino spent a majority of his childhood in their office. While other kids were outside playing sports or video games, he was wrapped up in books like Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, and Encyclopedia Brown. On more fun-filled days, even the archaeological adventures of young Indiana Jones filled his pages and mind. However, more that reading, and more than playing endless games of Clue and Guess Who? (though they were fun), Shino dreamed about having a mystery to solve of his own. Unfortunately for him, one would land in his lap in the form of Naphthalene.

Naphthalene has several industrial uses but it as better known as, in lamest terms, moth balls. The smell of moth balls comes from the naphthalene. One day, while Shino was the mere age of ten, a man being chased by his parents in a case broke into their office one day, only to find Shino there. Unable to partake in his original plan of poisoning the office coffee with Shino present, the wanted murderer forced several mothballs down the child's throat, and quickly left him there to die. What better way than to kill their only child?

Shino immediately called the police, but only five minutes into the call he began to feel the symptoms of nausea and vomiting. By the time they had him in the ambulance, he was suffering from involuntary diarrhea and convulsions. Luckily, Shino's life was spared, for he was able to arrive to the hospital just in time for his stomach to be pumped and liquids with furosemide in order to stop injury to the kidneys. The man responsible, however, was never found.

However, after this attack, Shino began to realize what his calling was. He desired to be a leading expert in Toxicology, and know poisons better than any individual in the world. And so it began, Shino piled up on all the books he could get his hands on, books of medical poisons, industrial poisons, street drugs, poisonous plants and animals, and, the subject he was the most interested in: household poisons like naphthalene.
